Akkineni Naga Chaitanya is in the best phase of his career for the last few years. The young actor has delivered back to back hits in the form of Majili, Venky Mama, Love Story, and Bangarraju. He teamed up with Vikram Kumar after a long gap for Thank You which got released today after several postponements. Let’s see whether Naga Chaitanya can continue his hit streak with this movie or not.
Story:
Abhiram (Naga Chaitanya) is a self-centred guy who goes through a difficult phase in early days of his life and achieves great success through determination and hard work in the corporate field. After attaining the much desired success, he becomes an ego-centric and workaholic man who doesn’t bother about the feelings of others.
He meets Priya (Raashi Khanna) who supports him financially and becomes a part of his life. However, with his self-centred attitude Abhiram loses his near and dear ones. However, an emotional incident makes him realize the value of the people who stood by him during difficult times and comes to know the value of gratitude. He takes up a tour to thank all the people who helped him during the tough times. What happens next is the rest of the story.
Analysis:
Ever since the teaser and trailer released, there were no much expectations on the movie as it appeared too classy and have the shades of many movies like Naa Autograph, Premam and to an extent Majili. Though the movie doesn’t have any mass elements Naga Chaitanya has given one of his finest performances in the movie
Though the movie’s theme of soul-searching is good, it has been used already several times and most recently Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi had a similar theme. But, lack of strong emotional content makes Thank You a disappointing tale. Thaman’s background score is another big let-down in the movie.
Positives:
Naga Chaitanya’s performance
First Half
PC Sreeram’s cinematography
Naga Chaitanya and Raashi Khanna’s emotional scenes in climax
Negatives:
Routine story
Lack of entertainment
Verdict:
On the whole, Thank You is a good concept gone for a toss. Lack of engaging narration and incoherent writing makes it an average movie.
