It’s not uncommon that when the first look of multiple films is unveiled along with details about their content, a few movies seem to share similar themes. Currently, there’s a notable resemblance between two upcoming films: Jr NTR’s “Devara” and Naga Chaitanya’s “Thandel.” Both narratives revolve around the life of a fisherman and depict events in a fishing village. The protagonists undertake sea voyages on their ships and engage in endeavors that involve saving their world.
The storyline in both films appears akin, with the hero dedicating himself to protecting his crew and village. However, the noticeable contrast lies in the timelines depicted within these movies. “Devara” exudes a vintage feel, while “Thandel” adopts a relatively modern setting in comparison to Jr NTR’s film. Despite assertions from sources associated with both films claiming that the storylines and timelines differ, the shared backdrop leads to speculation that the heroes might be starring in similar narratives.
Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, “Thandel” presents a modern twist, whereas “Devara,” helmed by senior director Koratala Siva, carries a more vintage essence. Although both movies seem to share a setting, assurances have been made regarding distinct storylines and timelines.
