The race for the Chief Minister’s position in the Telangana Congress party has attracted numerous contenders, including senior leaders like Jana Reddy and Bhatti Vikramarka. However, the path to sustaining this role is challenging due to internal conflicts within the party.
Telangana PCC chief Revanth Reddy recently made an announcement regarding the Congress party’s CM candidate. He revealed the name of Mulugu MLA Seethakka, highlighting their strong sisterly bond and unwavering support for each other. Revanth’s decision to pick Seethakka stems from the fact that she hails from a tribal community.
During an interaction with NRIs at the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) event in the United States, Revanth shared his thoughts on the Congress party’s prospects for the upcoming 2023 Assembly elections. He urged the audience to give the Congress party a chance, emphasizing that only Congress could empower a Dalit to assume the CM position. Revanth also highlighted the political experience of Kharge, who now serves as the President of the Congress party.
While Revanth’s announcement aimed to create a positive image among the people, it sparked a debate within the Telangana Congress. Some individuals supported the decision, recognizing its potential benefits. However, certain senior leaders questioned Revanth’s intentions and expressed concerns over the lack of consultation before the announcement. Despite the internal debates, Revanth is making a distinctive mark in the Telangana Congress party.
