After battling for life for over 25 days, actor Nandamuri Taraka Ratna breathed his last on 18th February. While the members of the film industry, his relatives, and close friends mourned his death, in a shocking manner his parents Mr. and Mrs. Nandamuri Mohan Krishna didn’t visit to see the body of their son, but they will come directly to Mahaprasthanam his last rites.
In this connection, a social media post says- “It is known that the parents of Tarakaratna kept him away ever since his intercaste marriage. Even the death of their son didn’t change their mind. They kept the same rivalry with their son and daughter-in-law. But still, a son is a son. How can they hold the emotion of not visiting the dead body so far? Caste feeling is deeply rooted in Nandamuris”.
Taraka Ratna’s parents’ actions have been criticized as a bad example for society on social media. Their unfair treatment of their son, even in death, is seen as a reflection of deep-seated caste discrimination by netizens.
