It is well-known that Tamil star Suriya’s new film, Soorarai Pottru is going to skip its theatrical release and go for a direct OTT streaming. Noted digital platform Amazon Prime has acquired the film rights and is gearing up to premiere on October 30, 2020.
On the other hand, news has been circulating from the past few days is that the central government is going to permit the projection of movies in the cinema halls from October 15, 2020. Now, the latest buzz among Tamil media circles is that Soorarai Pottru team is planning to cancel the deal with Amazon Prime and go for a theatrical release of the film during Dusshera festival season. If the news turns into reality, this comes as an unexpected surprise for all the moviegoers and Suriya fans.
Directed by Sudha Kongara, Soorarai Pottru’s Telugu version has been titled as Aakaasam Nee Haddhura. GV Prakash is the music composer.
