Sunny Deo : Movie industry is full of uncertainties. Even the biggest superstars fade out in no time and some emerge as the stars overnight. The same thing happened in the mid-90s in Bollywood. Sunny Deol was a leading hero along with Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in the late 80s till mid-90s. Though Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan were popular, Sunny Deol had the mass image which pulled the crowds to the theaters.
However, the success of Darr movie made Shahrukh Khan an overnight star and Sunny Deol’s role didn’t even get the recognition despite playing the hero in the movie. Sunny Deol stopped talking to Shahrukh Khan for over 15 years and slowly he faded out.
Director Chandraprakash initially approached Sunny Deol for a titular role in the magnum opus Prithiviraj, however, the producer Aditya Chopra wanted a saleable actor and hence forced the director to rope Akshay Kumar instead of faded out actor Sunny Deol. The movie is all set to release in theaters next week.
