Story behind Nagarjun’s entry into Bollywood

Nagarjuna : Nagarjuna, the son of thespian ANR, has carved a niche for himself with his acting prowess and emerged as one of the finest superstars of Telugu cinema. He was one among the four superstars Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, and Balakrishna who ruled the box-office in the late 80s till early 2000s.

Though other three superstars are happy with their own space in Tollywood, it was Nagarjuna who broke the barriers and made his Bollywood debut 30 years ago. At the time, when south actors succeeding in Bollywood is a dream for many, Nagarjuna has tasted success with his debut movie.

Nagarjuna entered the Bollywood with a bang with the blockbuster movie Khudagawah featuring the India’s biggest superstar Amitabh Bachchan and Sridevi. Directed by Mukul S. Anand, the movie was a big hit. However, before Nagarjuna was roped, Ajay Devgan, and Sanjay Dutt were considered for his role and a few scenes have been shot on them. As the director wasn’t convinced, he roped Nagarjuna, who was riding high after sensational success of Shiva in both Telugu and Hindi for the role.
