Director Srinu Vaitla has ushered in a fresh trend within Tollywood by crafting comedic blockbusters. Despite facing a series of setbacks over the past few years, his fortunes seem to be changing, as reports indicate that he has finally found a lead actor for his upcoming project, marking his return to the director’s chair after a hiatus of four years. The chosen protagonist is none other than the charismatic Macho Star Gopichand.
After a four-year gap, director Srinu Vaitla is poised to make a triumphant re-entry into the film industry. Sources suggest that he is set to create a movie in his signature genre, comedy. Srinu Vaitla was once synonymous with consecutive hits, with iconic films like “Anandam,” “Dhee,” “Dubai Seenu,” “Ready,” and “Dookudu” under his belt.
The downward spiral in Srinu Vaitla’s career trajectory began with “Aagadu,” starring Mahesh Babu that unfortunately met with critical and commercial disappointment. Subsequently, projects like “Bruce Lee,” “Mister,” and “Amar Akbar Anthony” failed to reverse his fortunes, leading him to step away from filmmaking for nearly four years.
Despite the initial announcement of a sequel to his blockbuster “Dhee,” with Manchu Vishnu in the lead, the project’s production came to a halt before it even began. Undeterred, Srinu Vaitla is reportedly striving to craft another movie with an unabashedly entertaining narrative. There’s speculation that Gopichand will be taking on the pivotal role in this endeavor, with Gopi Mohan said to be working on the screenplay.
As per the latest information, Srinu Vaitla has already met with Gopichand, sharing the core concept of the story. Impressively, the hero was enamored by the idea and granted his enthusiastic approval for the project. As the final version of the script is currently in the works, it’s anticipated that an official announcement about the film will be forthcoming in the near future.
