Several producers from the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce have alleged that a few individuals are attempting to postpone the upcoming elections for their own selfish interests. The meeting was conducted under the leadership of former Chamber President Basireddy, former Chairman of the Producers’ Sector Dr. Pratani Ramakrishna Goud, and Executive Committee member of the Producers’ Sector Mohan Goud.
With the current body’s term ending this July, the producers unanimously resolved in a meeting held at Basireddy’s office that preparations must be made immediately to conduct elections. As per the Chamber’s rules, elections must be held every two years. The producers strongly opposed the suggestion made by some individuals—driven by personal agendas—to allow the current body to continue without fresh elections.
They also criticized certain misleading narratives being circulated in the media suggesting the current body would continue. The producers emphasized that elections should be conducted democratically and warned that attempts to block the electoral process will not succeed.
On Monday, July 7, at 10:30 AM, the producers—led by Basireddy and Dr. Pratani Ramakrishna Goud—will submit a memorandum to the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce. A press conference will follow the submission. The producers at today’s meeting urged all fellow producers to actively participate in both the memorandum submission and the media briefing.
Producers who attended the meeting include Ramesh Naidu, Lion Sai Venkat, K. Suresh Babu, Bodapati Murali, Ravindra Gopal G. Sudarshan Rao, Gururaj, Vinjamuri Madhu, Shankar Goud, Bhanuru Nagaraju, Bandaru Amar, P. L. K. Reddy, Ranga Ravindra Gupta (Bullet Ravi), Munnawar Ali, Mittana Eshwar, RVN Varaprasad, Veerareddy, among others.
