Senior writer, novelist and director Yandamuri Veerendranath who shares a close rapport with Chiranjeevi has been targeting Chiranjeevi in recent times. The trio of Chiranjeevi, A Kondanda Ramireddy, and Yandamuri Veerendranth delivered many blockbusters in the 1980s and 1990s. While A Kodanda Ramireddy and Yandamuri Veerendranth faded out in the film industry, Chiranjeevi rose to much bigger heights.
Though they have been sharing good relations, it’s not all well between Chiranjeevi and Yandamuri Veerendranath for the past few years. He made satirical comments on Chiranjeevi’s floating PRP party and even belittled Ram Charan’s achievements a few years ago. Now, the senior writer is back in the news for his criticism of the title song of Waltair Veerayya. He made some satirical comments as he found some of the words used by lyricist Chandrabose objectionable, where he compared Chiru’s character to Lord Shiva. Lyricist Chandrabose has given him a strong counter regarding this.
Yandamuri gave scripts to Chiranjeevi’s movies like Abhilasha, Marana Mrudangam, Raakshasudu, Challenge, and Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari. But after the debacle of the Stuartpuram Police Station movie which was directed by Yandamuri, they never worked together again as things got bitter between them.
