Unlike a few years ago when actors from the north belittled the Telugu film industry. Now the scene has reversed and even the biggest stars from Bollywood are eagerly waiting to work in Telugu and south movies after the success of Baahubali, KGF, Pushpa and RRR movies.
As per the latest reports, veteran Bollywood hero Mithun Chakraborthy’s son Mahaakshay Chakraborty aka Mimoh is making his debut in Tollywood with a Telugu-Hindi bilingual titled Nenekkadunna. The film is directed by Madhav Kodad. The film stars Sasha Chetri who became famous as Airtel girl.
Speaking to media, Mimoh shared his excitement and love for Tollywood. He said “Tollywood is one of the biggest film industries in India rightnow and I’m pumped to be debuting here,” and added, “I am part of a great film, so I hope people will notice my performance.” He shared “There are so many layers to my character that unfold with twists and turns and the story itself is stellar. I was so apprehensive and nervous, but I learnt so much while shooting in Hyderabad. It was tough to shoot in both Telugu and Hindi,”
Mimoh is excited as the film also has a song choreographed by Prem Rakshit of Naatu Naatu fame. Mimo says “When I see that Naatu Naatu has made it to the Oscars, I feel so lucky, blessed and grateful. I hope I get to keep working in Tollywood,”
He revealed “I would often visit Hyderabad when my father would shoot here. Even when in Mumbai, I would watch Telugu and Tamil films often because I love the stories they tell,” he adds “And when I was in my teens, I spent a few years in Kochi and Coimbatore for my studies. I feel right at home here.”
