The film is being helmed by Aditya Dhar, the director of Uri: The Surgical Strike, a film that bonded with Indians in a big way. Now, the latest from the film’s team is that Sara Ali Khan, who is rather busy with commercials and films, might be playing the female lead to Vicky Kaushal’s Ashwattama.

However, Saif Ali Khan’s daughter hasn’t given her nod as yet. As per sources from the film’s unit, she is still in talks and might decide within a fortnight. If she gives the nod, she will be playing a character that will have a mythological undertone to it.

Just like in the West, superhero and fantasy films seem to be enticing the Indian audiences and of late, we are getting to hear of films with such plots. The Immortal Ashwattama is one such attempt in which Vicky Kaushal’s role is that of the son of Guru Dronacharya.

The will be shot extensively in India and abroad. After shooting at various locations in India, the team will next go to Greece, Namibia, New Zealand and Japan to complete the shoot. The film is naturally VFX-heavy and it is said that Aditya Dhar is in talks with experts from the West.

Vicky Kaushal is said to be preparing for his part by learning mixed martial arts, horse-riding and sword fighting. If Sara joins the team, she will prep for her role starting early next year.
