Bollywood Superstar Akshay Kumar’s new film, Laxmmi had a direct OTT on noted streaming platform Disney Plus Hotstar a couple of days back. But the film had a theatrical release in a few selected overseas markets such as Australia, Fiji and New Zealand and UAE.
While the film has been receiving negative feedback from the digital audience, the scenario at the overseas is also same for the film. Reportedly, by the end of its first weekend, Laxmmi has managed to collect only close to ₹3 crores from the overseas which is a shocking figure considering Akshay Kumar’s star stature.
In this context, the above number not only reflect the bad output of Laxmmi but also warn the filmmakers on the present overseas market during these Covid-19 testing times.
