Release Troubles For Samantha’s Movie

Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s upcoming Pan Indian movie “Shaakuntalam” has been facing several problems ever since the shoot was completed. Firstly, the movie was supposed to be released on February 17th but got postponed to April 14th due to some unsaid reasons. Secondly, due to delays in shooting, computer graphics work, and other production expenses, the movie’s budget has reportedly increased from 40-50 Crores to over 75 Crores.

However, despite the increased budget, “Shaakunthalam” is failing to generate much buzz as the team is not focusing much on promotions. As a result, there is a little craze for film in other languages, and theatrical offers are almost non-existent. Although there is better anticipation for the film in Telugu, the offers are still moderate.

It is predicted that the worldwide business of the Telugu version will be close to 20 Crores, and the non-theatrical earnings may not exceed 50 Crores. As a result, the movie is facing financial difficulties and requires better promotional content to generate a buzz and attract more audiences.

Directed by Gunasekhar, the movie has Dev Mohan, Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha, Aditi Balan, Prakash Raj, Gauthami, Madhoo, Sachin Khedekar, and Ananya Nagalla. The film is based on the famous play “Shaakuntalam” by Kalidas.
