The Sarileru Neekevvaru star has confirmed that she will be debuting in Bollywood soon. The film titled Mission Majnu is being produced by RSVP and Guilty by Association. Ace producer Ronnie Screwvala is also associated with the project.
The film, shares Rashmika, is based on true events that took place within Pakistan. It is about a RAW mission that was pulled off right within Pakistan.
In the film, Rashmika gets to act alongside Siddharth Malhotra. Rashmika took to social media to say, “Well guys, here’s news for you! I’m super glad and excited to be a part of this! Here’s to a new journey!” She added a huge heart emoji alongside her message.
Siddharth Malhotra will be playing the RAW agent in the film to be directed by debutant Shantanu Bagchi. The poster released by the team says it’s the untold story of India’s greatest covert operation. Well, that is bound to surely raise many eyebrows.
Speaking of the film, Siddharth Malhotra shared, “Mission Majnu is a patriotic tale inspired by true events that celebrate the hardwork of RAW agents who go out of their way to protect the citizens of our country.”
He further adds that it is indeed a privilege to tell the story of our brave agents. He says he is waiting to shoot for the film that changed the relationship between India and Pakistan forever. He revealed he was excited to share the film with everyone.
Rashmika says it is a wonderful opportunity for an actor to act in a different language, as it is always the story of the film that she connects with. She says language is no barrier to her.
The film go on the floors in February 2021.
