Ranveer Singh is set to take on the significant role of Dev in Brahmastra Two, following the successful box office run of the 2022 film Brahmastra. The makers have established Dev as a pivotal character, hinting at him being the main antagonist in the sequel. Latest reports strongly indicate that Ranveer Singh has been finalized for this epic role in Brahmastra Two.
Speculation about which star would portray Dev has been rife for a while, with names like Yash and Hrithik Roshan circulating in rumors. However, it’s finally confirmed that Ranveer Singh will be taking on this highly anticipated role, exciting fans awaiting the film’s release.
The script for Brahmastra’s second installment is currently in progress. Director Ayan Mukerji, occupied with War 2 at present, will shift his focus to Brahmastra Part Two after wrapping up this project. Reportedly, shooting for the sequel is slated to commence in 2025.
In the 2022 release of Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra,’ featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, the film’s climax sparked speculation about Dev and Amrita. While Deepika was briefly seen as Amrita, Dev’s role remained unclear. However, reports now affirm that Ranveer will portray Dev, believed to be Ranbir’s on-screen father, in Brahmastra Part Two.
Earlier in April, Ayan had announced plans for the Brahmastra sequels, promising they would be grander and more ambitious than the initial film, with intentions to film them concurrently.
‘Brahmastra Part One: Shiva’ initiated the Astra verse universe, with two sequels scheduled for 2026 and 2027. The story follows Shiva (Ranbir) as he explores the origins of his powers, accompanied by his deep love interest, Isha (Alia).
The film, produced by Star Studios and Dharma Productions, also starred Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy, with special appearances by Shah Rukh Khan and Nagarjuna. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the movie achieved substantial commercial success, grossing over Rs 400 crore worldwide.
