The tried and tested cinematic universe concept in Hollywood is slowly gaining prominence in Indian cinema. Several directors are weaving their previous films into their new movies, calling them their own cinematic universe.
Director Lokesh Kanagaraj perfectly weaved Khaidi’s story into Vikram and surprised everyone. Bollywood director Rohith Shetty is mixing up various police officers roles played by Akshay, Ajay, and Ranveer for the Singham series.
Recently, Tollywood director Sailesh Kolanu who mixed a small case from HIT into HIT 2 movie and spun out a big story. It’s also rumored that Prashanth Neel is said to have taken up this universe concept as he’s said to have got a connection of Salaar to KGF already.
If reports are to be believed, director Sukumar is planning to mix Ram Charan’s Chitti Babu role into the world of Pushpa Raj. It’s rumored that Chittibabu after killing Prakash Raj in the Rangasthalam movie will run away from the village. He has traveled all the way to the forests of Chittoor from Godavari districts, and he will be introduced towards the end of “Pushpa: The Rule”.
For now, this is only a buzz and an official confirmation from the director is yet to be made on this. A few months back, Rajamouli revealed that Sukumar had shot a few scenes on Ram Charan after he wrapped up the RRR movie and said that it would be a big surprise.
