When Allu Arjun starrer ‘Pushpa’ part 1 released in December 2021 under the direction of great director Sukumar, that movie was trolled a lot. However, the response that came after the release of the movie was not expected by anyone. It is not an exaggeration if director Sukumar and hero Allu Arjun have also guessed it. That movie became a hit in a range. That movie made Allu Arjun a worldwide hero among Telugu heroes. The film ‘Pushpa’ brought Allu Arjun all the fame. The sequel to the movie ‘Pushpa: The Rule’ has released worldwide today (5th December-2024). There are huge expectations on this movie. Business has also become huge. The advance bookings are also booming. And let’s find out how the movie “Pushpa 2” is waiting for with great interest…
Story: Pushparaj (Allu Arjun) goes to Japan with his red sandalwood. He fights with the Japanese mafia in the port of Japan. If cut, in the forests of Chittoor Seshachalam, Pushparaj grows unhindered by red sandalwood smuggling. The entire syndicate comes under his control. On the other hand, SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat (Pahad Fazil) is planning to stop Pushpa. He goes to the forest as a laborer and crushes everyone and arrests him. Pushpa, who came to free his men, was overpowered by the police and killed all the policemen. The police station is completely empty. Enraged by this, Shekhawat kills a syndicate.
Then all the rest of the syndicates are scared. A syndicate party is formed in the presence of MP Siddappa (Rao Ramesh) to apologize to Pushpa. Pushpa gets drunk and apologizes to Shekhawat. But he takes it as an insult and goes again and hits Shekhawat’s car. He insults him by pouring toilet in the swimming pool. Pushpa already makes a huge deal with an international smuggler. The deal was to provide two thousand tons of red sandalwood. A huge amount of money will come.
That’s what Pushpa Plan is for. Shekhawat makes a plan to stop it. But Pushpa, who went to meet the CM before that, gets insulted. The CM goes back to give the photo. He says no, he will get in trouble if he takes a picture with the smuggler. Pushpa’s ego gets hurt there. With this he plans to change the CM himself. That’s why we need a lot of money. He sets this deal for that money. And crossed Shekhawat and crossed the border with pushpa? Did he change the CM? What is the quarrel with the central minister and mining king Pratap Reddy in this order? Why did the family who insulted him come to Pushpa? What did Pushpa do for them? That is the rest of the story.
Analysis: In this film, the scenes seem to be arranged and stacked at will. Although the emotional scenes are very strong, the feeling doesn’t connect with the audience. The first fight in the first round is good. There is a dialogue where the boss says that I am the boss of all of you. After that the story goes to the past. But it is not clear whether it was a dream or actually happened. Shekhawat’s attempt to catch Pushpa is good in the beginning. After that every time Shekhawat fails.
If he goes up, he goes up and sends flowers. The little twists in this sequence are good. Some are comedies. Others are maddening. The scenes in this sequence of insulting the CM and changing the CM are cinematic. It didn’t feel natural. In order to add commercial elements like this, no logic has been ignored. But every 10 or 15 minutes, a high-pitched scene was played and whistles were blown by the audience in the theatres. According to that, the way the flowers bloomed is good. The warning and challenge to Shekhawat in the syndicate party coming during the interval time did not explode as expected. As long as it was, it felt okay.
The highlight of the second half is the fair episode. The dance done by Pushpa dressed as Ammo is truly mesmerizing. Immediately after that, the fight scenes are goosebumps. Following that, he squeezed the family with an emotional scene. The way Rashmika’s character is also excited in this is good. After that, it goes on with the scenes of Shekhawat rising and falling and changing the CM. And the climactic fight on the occasion of the kidnapping of his elder brother’s daughter is ironic. It is exciting. Anyone watching those scenes is sure to get goosebumps. It was designed in that range. The scenes before that are normal. These two episodes are the highlights of the second half. And the climax ended with family emotions and sentiment. There is no clarity in the narrative. Not much logic either. Commercial freedom is taken too far.
That’s why many scenes feel unnatural. Some of the scenes are as if they were inserted. It would have been better if the story was written strongly. As the villain is not strong, the war becomes one sided. It sounds bland. Does not give much kick. The scenes related to Central Minister Pratap Reddy are limited to the introduction. No depth. It seems that it has been hidden for the third part. There is no clarity in the dialogues. Most of the dialogues are not understandable. That’s a big minus. But now people are going crazy for mass and action movies. It was designed in that context. Priority has been given to the elements that fans like.
They were successful in that regard. Punakalu is perfect for bunny fans and mass audience in theatres. Pushpa has more ego sana. If Pushpa Part 1 is about how a laborer who works in the red sandalwood syndicate earns crores of rupees by making money, wakes up the villains who were already rooted in the syndicate. What happened to the actual flower? In the movie, Pushpa’s head is put in the fireplace for whom? Will the flower born to her, which is kept, get the name of the family or not? Why did the original heroine get a dialogue about how she would feel if she heard the word ‘Pellam’ in the movie? What is the wish of Pushpa Srivalli? These are interesting scenes.
“Pushpa 2: The Rule” is a dish cooked with mass, commercial elements and action scenes. Elevation scenes regardless of logic, story flow, then some romance, small comedy, action scene elevation again, challenges with Shekawat, challenges with the CM, etc. He tried to do magic from time to time without getting bored. In this movie Pushpa Gadi Shivatandava seems to be unstoppable. It can be said that Allu Arjun Alias Pushpa’s performance, Jatara scene, Sukumar’s directorial talent, Peelings song and Interval bangs are good plus points for the movie. However.. the first half Sagadita, heroine Rashmika’s performance, Srileela special song and Devi Sri Prasad’s music were minus points.
There is a scene in this movie.. that is the fair scene… the audience is sure to come again and again to the theaters to watch that scene…. That scene is guaranteed not only for the fans but also for everyone watching the movie. Pushparaj started as a laborer in the movie “Pushpa” and grew up to be a member of a small syndicate. In this order, he gets into a fight with the newly arrived SP Shekhawat and challenges him. “Pushpa 2” mainly revolves around Pushparaj ruling the syndicate. He buys those who get in his way with money. Eventually, he will rise to the level of changing the CM with money.
He sets international deals beyond national. As the dialogue in the trailer says, he will go ahead with an international target. This is the story in a nutshell. The movie is about what Pushpa did for this. There is not much to tell the story. Sukumar helmed the film with elevations, thrilling songs, BGM and fights, firmly adding elements required for action films in a commercial format. In between, he put romantic scenes with Rashmika Mandanna and comedy in it. He also tried to connect the audience by adding family sentiments and emotional scenes at one or two places.
Who did it… When it comes to acting, the first thing to talk about is Allu Arjun. He acted as ‘Pushpa’. He lived to act. Is this the one who acted in the original ‘Gangotri’? It doesn’t seem like it. No other hero can do justice to the role of Pushpa except Allu Arjun. But in the Jatara scenes, Pushpa Raj’s acting will bring joy to even the anti-fans. Once again Pushparaj dusted off. He was agitated beyond the first part. It can be said that he carried the entire film on his shoulders. Fahad Fazil, Jagapathi Babu, Sunil, Anasuya, Rao Ramesh were there but he dominated them. And if you see Bunny in Ammoru’s getup in the Jatara episode, you can say it’s Poonakale. He excelled in actions as well. He reinvented himself.
Treated with dances. Rashmika Mandanna also gave her best as Srivalli. It can be said that she is another highlight character in the movie. Rashmika’s performance can’t be called wow in a range but Srivalli did justice to her role. Bunny and Rashmika did well in the songs. A feast for the eyes. . Feelings song by Srileela can be given more marks than Srileela’s special song. Fahadh Fazil has done full justice to his role. When you see his original character, you can’t help but say how sadistic Abba is. What is missing in the role of Anasuya, who did not appear much in Pushpa The Rise.. Anasuya has something, that’s all.. And Sunil, Rao Ramesh and others all performed well and acted in an unexpected range.
Bunny got angry with Srili in the song Peeling. Fahadh Fazil also created a stir as Shekhawat. He is crazy in a role with a negative shade. But it can be said that his character is shown as dull. Anasuya and Sunil’s characters are entertaining. Jagapathi Babu’s role is newly added. Central Minister Pratap Reddy gave high as long as he was in the role. He also got excited in the new getup in the Chittoor accent. Rao Ramesh has another strong role. Will be remembered forever. Jagdish once again impressed in the role of Keshav. Rest of the characters are ok.
Technically: Miroslav Kuba Brozek’s visuals are the best for the movie. Well shot. Close-ups and long shots are good. Visuals are a treat. All the songs rendered by Devisree Prasad are enthralling. More than the songs, the sounding and the dances of the heroines stand as a special attraction. It is not an exaggeration that the audience does not sit in theater seats for songs.
Cinematography and dance composing are equally good. BGM was played for the fight scenes. It is different from the routine. Thaman, Devisree Prasad and Sam CS are rocking with BGM. Naveen Nooli’s editing is okay! That is the biggest strength of the movie. It can be said that director Sukumar played a safe game. Pushpa Raj is the main character and leads the story. The dialogues give a power kick. On the whole, director Sukumar gave a treat to the masses and fans.
