Popular Malayalam Director Passes Away

Malayalam cinema has lost a notable figure as director Siddique, aged 63, has passed away, leaving the film community in deep sorrow. Born Siddique Ismail, he marked his directorial debut in 1989 with the Malayalam film “Ramji Rao Speaking.” Earlier, in 1986, he made his screenwriting debut with “Pappan Priyappetta Pappan.”

Siddique gained widespread recognition through movies such as “Godfather,” “Hitler,” “Big Brother,” “Kabuliwala Friends,” and more. He expanded his horizons by directing Salman Khan’s “Bodyguard” in Bollywood. Additionally, his film “Big Brother,” featuring Mohan Lal, was also dubbed and released in Telugu.

His health had been a concern, and he was admitted to the hospital on July 10 due to non-alcoholic liver cirrhosis. Tragically, he suffered a heart attack on a Sunday. Battling liver failure, he was in need of a liver transplant and was placed on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) support.

The entire film industry is grappling with shock over this loss, as condolences pour in from all corners of the world.
