The actress alleged that she is being suppressed by the people in the Telugu film industry, who are denying her opportunities because of her Punjabi background, despite being born and raised in Telangana.
However, these allegations made by Poonam Kaur have no basis. Many heroines like Rakul Preet, Kajal, Raashi Khanna, and many others have become star heroines who hail from the North. Industry professionals approach actors who are popular or in high demand, and Poonam Kaur has not delivered any hits recently and has been in the news only due to her personal relationship with an actor. Therefore, she is not receiving any offers for roles, and her claims of discrimination due to her background are unfounded.
