The success of a film at the box office does not solely depend on the star actor’s efforts in making the film happen but on the quality of its content. Gunasekhar-Samantha’s Shaakuntalam, despite the director’s hard work, turned out to be a disaster. After Rudramadevi, Gunasekhar attempted Prathaparudrudu, which did not materialize.
He then collaborated with Suresh Productions and some Bollywood producers for ‘Hiranyakashyapa,’ on which he and his team worked tirelessly for almost five years. Rana Daggubati was initially part of the film, but Gunasekhar shifted his focus to Shaakuntalam, which unfortunately turned out to be a flop. As a result, the production team that had previously believed in Gunasekhar walked out of Hiranyakashyapa. Currently, Gunasekhar is seeking investors, and there is a possibility that Rana might also walk out of the project.
