The trend of re-releasing old blockbuster movies for special occasions has become a regular thing in the Telugu Film Industry. However, the news of the re-release of the all-time disaster “Andhrawala” has surprised everyone. The movie, which was released in 2004, had created massive hype as both Puri Jagannath and NTR were at the peak of their careers. The audio function of the movie was held in front of a massive crowd, generating phenomenal buzz.
Unfortunately, the movie failed to meet expectations and turned out to be a colossal disaster. It is said to be one of the biggest failures in the history of the Telugu Film Industry. Nevertheless, the re-release rights of “Andhrawala” have been acquired by a private individual, and the film is set to release in March.
The re-release trend was initiated by Mahesh Babu’s “Pokiri”, which generated impressive numbers. Following this, even small films started getting re-released. However, it remains to be seen whether Andhrawala’s re-release will actually materialize or if it will merely be an announcement.
Recently, there were also announcements of the re-release of Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s hit movies “Badri” and “Tholiprema”. However, for unknown reasons, these plans did not materialize in the end.
