Niharika Konidela’s “Committee Kurrollu” Strikes Big At Gaddar Telangana Film Awards

Supremely talented actor-producer Niharika Konidela struck gold with her production venture “Committee Kurrollu”, which was released on August 9, 2024. The film received both critical acclaim and commercial success, cementing its place as one of the most talked-about releases last year. Adding to its accolades, Committee Kurrollu has now been honoured with two prestigious “Gaddar Telangana Film Awards”, announced today by the Government of Telangana.

The film was awarded the Best Feature Film on National Integration, Communal Harmony, and Social Uplift of Depressed Classes, while director Yadhu Vamsi received the Best Debut Director award. These honours come at a historic moment, marking the return of the state Awards after many years. The official date for the award presentation ceremony will be announced soon.

Produced with uncompromising standards and a cast of newcomers, Committee Kurrollu reflects Niharika Konidela’s bold vision and dedication to meaningful cinema. Her commitment to delivering a powerful and relevant story, paired with good production values, has been justly recognised, adding another remarkable achievement to her career.

Debutant director Yadhu Vamsi also made a strong impression with his very first film. Tackling themes of friendship, caste discrimination, and social justice, he showcased remarkable maturity and storytelling finesse. His ability to present these sensitive topics in an engaging and thought-provoking manner has rightfully earned him the Best Debut Director honour.

Set against the backdrop of the Godavari region in Andhra Pradesh, Committee Kurrollu explores how the harmony within a close-knit group of friends is disrupted when a disagreement leads to an unexpected fallout, affecting their lives and the peace of their community.

The film boasts an ensemble cast of talented newcomers, including Sandeep Saroj, Trinadh Varma, P. Sai Kumar, Goparaju Ramana, Raadhya, Prasad Behara, Manikanta Parasu, Lokesh Kumar Parimi, Yaswanth Pendyala and others in pivotal roles.

It was bankrolled by Padmaja Konidela and Jayalakshmi Adapaka under the banners, Pink Elephant Pictures and Shree Radha Damodar Studios. While Edurolu Raju handled the cinematography, Manyam Ramesh handled Production and Anudeep Dev composed the music.
