The OTT platforms are experiencing a shower of Sankranthi releases, with Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram joining the lineup after Venkatesh’s Saindhav. Netflix India has officially declared that the action-packed entertainer is set for its digital premiere on February 9th.
Featuring Mahesh Babu and Sreeleela in the lead roles, Trivikram’s Guntur Kaaram faced mixed reviews and below-par word of mouth upon its Sankranthi release. Despite these challenges, the film performed well at the box office, achieving a 90% worldwide recovery and securing an above-average status.
Netflix acquired the digital streaming rights for Guntur Kaaram at a record price in Mahesh Babu’s career. As per the streaming deal, the film was slated to be available for streaming four weeks after its theatrical release. The Netflix team made the announcement just on the brink of the four-week mark.
Guntur Kaaram is set to stream on Netflix globally from February 9th, offering audiences the option to watch the movie in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. Following the recent releases of Salaar and Animal, Guntur Kaaram marks the third major film to premiere on the streaming giant within the last month.
