Young hero Roshan Kanakala takes on a completely contrasting avatar in his second film Mowgli 2025, portraying a young man from jungle who wages a fierce battle for his love. Directed by National Award winner Sandeep Raj and produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad under the People Media Factory banner, the film has already generated strong buzz, thanks to the overwhelming response to its teaser and songs. Today, National Crush Rashmika Mandanna unveiled the film’s theatrical trailer.
The trailer opens with the introduction of the antagonist, played by Bandi Saroj Kumar- a psychotic police officer intolerant of even the slightest defiance. The narrative then shifts to Mowgli’s serene world. His girlfriend, a deaf-mute dancer, is part of a film unit shooting in the jungle. When the director attempts to flirt with her, Mowgli issues a stern warning. Tensions rise further with Saroj Kumar’s posting in the area and his disturbing interest in the girl. Determined to protect her, Mowgli readies himself for war.
Director Sandeep Raj, who showcased his mastery in crafting heartfelt love stories with his debut Colour Photo, once again proves his storytelling prowess- this time on a much larger canvas. The unique combination of a deaf-mute heroine, an unconventional protagonist, and a Ramayana-style narrative lends the film a distinctive and gripping tone.
Roshan Kanakala has undergone a complete transformation to embody Mowgli, delivering the intensity and authenticity the role demands. Sakkshi Mhadolkar takes on a challenging part and delivers an impressive performance. Bandi Saroj Kumar is remarkable as the antagonist, his potent villainy effectively elevating the heroism in the story. Harsha Chemudu leaves a noticeable mark in his supporting role.
The cinematography by Rama Maruti M stands out, with beautiful visuals that bring the forest backdrop to life. Kaala Bhairava’s intense score becomes the backbone of the narrative, amplifying its emotional and dramatic beats. The production values from People Media Factory are robust and well-suited to the genre. Editing is helmed by Kodati Pavan Kalyan, production design by Kiran Mamidi, and action choreography by Natraj Madigonda.
The trailer further heightens anticipation for Mowgli 2025, slated for release on December 12th.
