Akkineni Nagarjuna who has been facing series of duds is yet to announce his next project. Several director names were associated with his upcoming film, but no official confirmation has been made. However, Prasanna Kumar Bezawada, the writer of Raviteja’s blockbuster “Dhamaka,” was almost finalized as the director for Nagarjuna’s next film. Unfortunately, according to reports, Nagarjuna was dissatisfied with the director and reprimanded him
for wasting time.

Writer Prasanna Kumar Bezawada had planned to make his directorial debut with Nagarjuna’s film, proposing a remake story tailored to suit the preferences of Telugu audiences. Nagarjuna was under the impression that the director had acquired the official rights to remake the original Malayalam film. He was impressed with the story and even suggested beginning the project with a target release date around the Sankranthi festival. However, things did not go according to plan, which left Nagarjuna infuriated.

Controversy arose regarding the remake rights of the film. It was reported that the rights had already been purchased by someone else, and Bezawada Prasanna Kumar did not possess the necessary rights to proceed with the remake. This issue dragged on for months, wasting Nagarjuna’s time. Consequently, Nagarjuna fired the director for the time wasted, and he withdrew from the project. Currently, Nagarjuna is considering scripts from other directors for his next film.
