“Meaningful, Message-driven Films Like ‘ShashtiPoorthi’ Must Succeed For The Sake Of Society” – MLA Ramamohan at The Trailer Launch

The film ‘ShashtiPoorthi’ is produced by Rupeysh under the MAA AAIE Productions banner, with Rupeysh and Akanksha Singh in the lead roles, and directed by Pavan Prabha. The movie features the legendary actor Dr. Rajendra Prasad and Archana in key roles. The film is set to release on May 30. As part of promotions, songs and the teaser released so far have created a buzz among the audience.

On Saturday (May 24), the trailer launch event was held at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada. Chief guests for the event included Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Ramamohan and Penamaluru MLA Bode Prasad.

The trailer begins with a compelling line by the hero:

“A mother is someone we love without even knowing who she is… A father carries us on his shoulders and shows us a world unknown to him.”

Another impactful dialogue:

“It is my duty to correct what is wrong… Protecting justice is my profession.”

Then, Rajendra Prasad’s emotional line – “Don’t talk about change when you love habits, not the person” – gives insight into the emotional depth of the story. The trailer closes with intense scenes and lines like:

“If everything goes as planned, how is that life?”

“Not just me — no one should ever face a situation like this.”

Dr. Rajendra Prasad said: “When I first heard the title ‘ShashtiPoorthi’, I was surprised. I wondered – am I the only one getting age-appropriate roles? I’ve tried to escape my real-life ‘ShashtiPoorthi’ (60th birthday celebration), but now it has happened in film form. That’s my luck as an actor. I thank my brothers Ramamohan and Prasad for being here today.

We never discuss politics when we meet.

People used to say: ‘We have songs for weddings and funerals, but none for ShashtiPoorthi.’ Now we do — and it’s composed by none other than Ilaiyaraaja! Pavan Prabha’s musical taste is exceptional. He even got a song written by Keeravani. Chaitanya Prasad has penned many great songs. Our film reflects Telugu culture and tradition. Children usually don’t get to see their parents’ wedding — but ‘ShashtiPoorthi’ is a celebration where children witness their parents remarry. It was a joy to act with Archana again after many years. Our hero and producer Rupeysh has worked very hard. Akanksha has acted beautifully. This is a film for all Telugu people. Our movie is releasing on May 30. Please watch and support us.”

MLA Gadde Ramamohan said: “I’m happy to be part of a noble occasion like ShashtiPoorthi. My brother Rajendra Prasad has always supported me. Watching his films relieves all our stress and worries — not just my words, but words spoken by former PM P. V. Narasimha Rao. Through the film ‘Aa Naluguru’, he conveyed a message about preserving family values. A second wedding ceremony conducted by children for their parents — the joy it brings is indescribable. This film once again highlights the importance of family values. Films like these must succeed for the sake of society. Seeing Archana brought back memories of old films. I wish the director and producer great success.”

MLA Bode Prasad said: “Rajendra Prasad is a close friend. I came here upon his invitation. This is my first time attending a film function. I wish Rupeysh great success with this film. I really enjoy Chaitanya Prasad’s lyrics — whether it’s the movie ‘Aa Naluguru’ or any of his songs. After NTR, I admire Rajendra Prasad the most. I hope ‘ShashtiPoorthi’ becomes a huge success. All the best to everyone!”

Actor–Producer Rupeysh said: “Thanks to Ramamohan and Prasad for attending our event. Big technicians worked on our film — that’s not my credit. I was lucky that such a good story came to me. The real credit goes to director Pavan. I now feel like doing every film only with Rajendra Prasad garu. The film was completed a year ago, and we’ve carried it on our shoulders ever since. Shooting with Archana ma’am felt like being with my own mother. I thank Akanksha for working with newcomers like us. Chaitanya Prasad believed in our story more than we did. I couldn’t show a story with such depth on a small scale — it needed this level of grandeur. That’s why we brought in stars like Ilaiyaraaja and Thota Tharani. Our movie releases on May 30. I’m confident we’ll recover our investment in just two days.”

Director Pavan Prabha said: “Thanks to everyone who supported and worked on this film. I believe everyone will like our movie. Thanks to Rupeysh for giving me the chance to work with legends like Rajendra Prasad and Archana. Chaitanya Prasad garu is like a big brother to this film. Thanks to Ilaiyaraaja for the music and Thota Tharani for the art direction. Our film is coming on May 30 — please watch and help it succeed.”

Actress Archana said: “Thanks to everyone who came for our ‘ShashtiPoorthi’ film. Akanksha is a very talented actress. Pavan Prabha named the banner after his mother and learned every emotion in the film from his parents. If Rajendra Prasad is in a film, it has everything. He can enter any character with ease. It’s a joy to work with him again after two decades. It’s also a pleasure to work under Ilaiyaraaja’s musical direction again. Pavan brought us all together. Rupeysh did full justice as hero and producer. These days, making and completing a film is like a ritual or a poison test. Making a film like this isn’t easy. Our film releases on May 30. Please watch and make it a success.”

Actress Akanksha Singh said: “‘ShashtiPoorthi’ is a very special film for me. Through this film, I found a wonderful family. It will make you laugh, cry, and move you emotionally. I thank the director and producer for giving me the beautiful role of Janaki. It was a joy to act with Rajendra Prasad garu again. Seeing Archana garu reminded me of my own mother. Ilaiyaraaja’s music is a strength to our film. Our movie releases on May 30 — please watch and make it a success.”

Lyricist Chaitanya Prasad said: “I love Tummalapalli Kalakshetram. This venue has given me many friends.

Pavan and Rupeysh came to me asking me to write lyrics for this film — under Ilaiyaraaja’s music. I didn’t believe it until they bought me a ticket and took me to Chennai.

Entering Ilaiyaraaja’s studio felt like stepping into a sanctum sanctorum. I’ve written for many, but this opportunity to write for Ilaiyaraaja came through the ‘ShashtiPoorthi’ team. I’ll always be indebted to them.”
