Lokesh Kanagaraj, the renowned director known for his films “Maanagaram,” “Kaithi,” “Master,” and “Vikram,” is currently working on his fifth film titled “Leo” starring Vijay. In a recent interview, Lokesh shared his future plans and mentioned his intention to retire after directing ten films.
Lokesh stated that he didn’t have grand ambitions of making numerous films when he entered the industry. His initial goal wasto try his hand at filmmaking. When asked about the possibility of working with big stars, Lokesh provided an interesting yet surprising response.
He expressed, “I don’t have plans to make a large number of films in my career. My entry into the industry was driven by a desire to explore cinema. I want to focus on creating films within the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) and live up to the expectations of LCU fans. After completing ten films, I plan to retire.”
The director recently confirmed that “Leo” would be a gangster film but clarified that it would not be a part of the film universe he is building under LCU. The Lokesh Cinematic Universe began with “Vikram,” which featured crossover characters from his film “Kaithi.” Following the completion of “Leo,” Lokesh will commence working on “Kaithi 2” with Karthi, and he also has plans for the next installment of “Vikram” with Kamal Haasan in the lead role.
