It is known that legendary Sri Lankan cricketer holds the unique cricketing record of taking over 800 wickets in International cricket, a feat no other cricketer has ever achieved post him. Now, a film titled ‘800’ based on his life story is in the making. Movie Train Motion Pictures are producing this film and MS Sripathy is directing it and it has Slumdog Millionaire fame Madhur Mittal and Mahima Nambiar in the lead roles. Booker Prize winner Shehan Karunatilaka is co-writing the film.
Coming to the topic, Sivalenka Krishna Prasad, a veteran producer at Sridevi Movies has acquired all India theatrical rights of the film.

The film was extensively shot in Sri Lanka, England, Australia, Kochin, Chandigarh and Chennai on a lavish budget.
On the occasion, Sivalenka Krishna Prasad said “Bringing Muralitharan’s life onto the big screens is a challenging task. He had been through so many tough situations and stood strong. He holds the record for taking 800 wickets and our film title commemorates the same. The film covers his journey from his childhood to becoming a cricket legend.
I tasted success by giving Yashoda a pan India release last year as a producer and now it is the turn of 800 and I’m proud to be releasing it across India. Post production is going on now and we are planning to release the film in October. The trailer will be out in September.”
