Vijay Sethupathi’s Laabam had a simultaneous release in Telugu and Tamil. Let us see what Vijay Sethupathi offered with Laabam.

Badri (Vijay Sethupati) after a hiatus returns to his village Pandooru and tries to acquire the farmlands to promote community farming. This is however opposed by the influential person Nagabhushanam(Jagapathi Babu) who dreams of coming with a bio-diesel project. Where it leads to form the rest of the story.

Vijay Sethupati did well in the role. Shruti Haasan offered a glamor treat to viewers. Jagapathi Babu is good in his role. Others did not get much scope to perform.

Late SP. Jahananathanan who directed the film came with a routine story with no real conflict point. He tried to be preachy and failed completely with his story, screenplay, and direction. Imman’s music failed to make any impact and BGM is ok. The cinematography of Ramji is good. Editing failed completely. Production values are good.
