Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan which was earlier titled Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali is the latest Bollywood release. Starring Salman Khan, Venkatesh, Pooja Hegde, Jagapathi Babu, Jassie Gill, Raghav Juyal, Siddharth Nigam, and others. Directed by Farhad Samji and produced by Salma Khan, the movie has music by multiple composers including Himesh Reshammiya, Ravi Basrur, Sukhbir Singh, Devi Sri Prasad, Sajid Khan, Payal Dev, and Amaal Mallik. The film hit theaters worldwide today with high expectations. Here’s our review of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.
Story: The movie revolves around Bhaijaan (Salman Khan), who decides not to get married to prevent any girl from coming between him and his beloved brothers. Bhagya Lakshmi Gundamaneni (Pooja Hegde), a Hyderabadi, enters Bhaijaan’s house as a tenant and changes his perspective towards marriage. However, goons attack them, and Bhaijaan finds out that they are after Bhagya. Who is Bhagya, and why are the goons after her? Who is Annayya (Venkatesh)? The movie has all the answers.
Plus Points: Salman Khan delivers an action-packed emotional drama in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. His dialogues with Venky and his performance in emotional scenes are impressive. Victory Venkatesh has a meaty role and his scenes with Salman Khan are delightful. Pooja Hegde looks stunning and delivers a good performance. The emotional scenes and action sequences are captured well. Production values and background score are good.
Minus Points: The story lacks novelty, and one can easily predict the outdated script. Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is a below-par film, considering Salman Khan’s stardom. The connectivity between scenes is not established well, and some scenes make one wonder whether it’s Salman’s film or Venky’s. The villain’s actions and dialogues are reminiscent of 80s villains. Some songs are good, but their placement is inappropriate and creates hurdles in the story. The climax portion is outdated, and the director could have written and executed it better.
Verdict: On the whole, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is a mediocre film with an outdated plot and scenes. Except for a few emotional scenes and Salman’s performance, the movie has nothing new to offer. The director could have taken more care of Salman’s character, as his fans expect something special from him. You may want to skip this film and find a better option for this weekend.
