The Tamil actors of the 1980s especially Rajinikanth, and Kamal Haasan has a huge fan base in Telugu also. Most of their movies got dubbed in Telugu and became hits and they have acted in a few straight Telugu movies as well.
Kamal Haasan, who is going through a lean patch with some miserable duds is hopeful to bounce back with a hit with his upcoming movie Vikram directed Lokesh Kanakaraj of Khaidi fame. The movie’s pre-release event was held in Hyderabad. Speaking at the event, Kamal Haasan was all in praise for the Telugu audience.
“I have done many Tamil films and a fair few of them have flopped. I only did a handful of Telugu films and the majority of them are box office hits. Such is the kind of adoration Telugu people have been showing me and I’m forever indebted to them. I am sure that Vikram will also greatly enthral you.” Kamal said at the event.
Apart from Kamal Haasan, the movie also has Fahad Fasil, and Vijay Sethupathi in important roles. The movie is all set for a grand theatrical release on June 3rd.
