YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s approach towards MLA ticket distribution has become more stringent, leading to significant changes in the political landscape. He has made it clear to several sitting MLAs that they won’t be considered for the upcoming 2024 elections under the YCP banner. This decision is primarily based on Jagan’s survey reports, indicating a lack of public approval for these individuals.
In Pithapuram, sitting MLA Pendem Dorababu, who won on a YCP ticket in 2019, has been informed that he doesn’t fit into YCP’s future plans due to purported issues with public acceptance. Despite warnings from Jagan in the past to improve his standing, Dorababu’s fate within the party seems sealed. He is now exploring possibilities with JanaSena and has reached out to Pawan Kalyan. A potential shift to JSP appears likely if he receives approval.
Similarly, in Jaggampeta, sitting YCP MLA Jyothula Chanti Babu has realized that he might not receive the party’s ticket. Consequently, he’s in talks with TDP leaders, planning a switch contingent upon approval from Chandra Babu. The scheduled date for his potential transition is set for 5 January.
Moreover, YCP’s Purna Chandra Prasad from Prathipadu has also faced the repercussions of Jagan’s decision. Observing Jagan’s indications, he’s contemplating a switch to the Telugu Desam Party. These shifts underscore the intense situation in Andhra Pradesh politics as these MLAs explore alternative options following their exclusion from YCP’s plans for the upcoming elections.
