In a surprising revelation, director Anil Ravipudi has disclosed a previously undisclosed connection between himself and the popular actress Sreeleela. Their relationship goes beyond the typical director-actress dynamic, as they share a family connection. This revelation was made during an interview with Gulte.com.
It turns out that Anil and Sreeleela’s roots are intertwined through their hometowns. Sreeleela’s mother, Dr. Swarna, hails from a village called Ponguluru near Ongole, which is also the same village as Anil’s hometown. Even though the star heroine was raised in Bangalore and the USA, she used to make a yearly visit to her grandmother’s house in Ponguluru.
During the filming of the movie “Bhagwant Kesari,” where Anil Ravipudi directed and Sreeleela played Nandamuri Balakrishna’s daughter, the director and the actress began discussing their hometowns. To their surprise, they discovered that they are actually related through their family roots.
While on the film set, Sreeleela refers to Anil as ‘director gaaru’ in the presence of others. However, in private and among close acquaintances, she affectionately calls him ‘maama’ because Sreeleela’s mother happens to be a cousin of Anil Ravipudi. It’s a unique twist of fate that not only brought them together in the film industry but also revealed a family connection between them.
