Kamal Haasan and Shankar, who previously collaborated on the 1996 film Indian, are reuniting after close to two decades for the much-anticipated sequel, Indian 2. Despite facing numerous challenges during its production, including a prolonged hiatus, the shooting for the film has now been completed, with CG work pending. While fans eagerly await an official release date, there is anticipation for an update from Shankar and the team on Republic Day.
In a recent revelation, the official OTT partner and streaming languages for Indian 2 have been disclosed. The film, Indian 2, has been acquired by the popular streaming platform Netflix for its digital premiere. Netflix shared this exciting news on their social media accounts, confirming that Indian 2 will be available on their platform after its theatrical release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
Lyca Productions, the film’s production house, also announced that the audio rights for Indian 2 have been secured by the renowned music label Sony Music for a substantial amount. The star-studded cast includes SJ Suryah, Bobby Simha, Siddharth, Brahmanandam, Samuthirakhani, Madhubala, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and others.
Produced by Udayanidhi Stalin and Subhaskaran under Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies, Indian 2 boasts Anirudh Ravichander as the music composer. The first look posters have already heightened expectations, showcasing the intense action sequences shot in locations such as Chennai, Los Angeles, Taiwan, and South Africa. With a rich ensemble and the dynamic duo of Kamal Haasan and Shankar back together, Indian 2 is set to capture the imagination of audiences across India.
