Latha Rajinikanth, wife of Rajinikanth, has been granted bail by a Bengaluru court in connection with a criminal case related to the 2014 Tamil film Kochadaiiyaan. The case, brought by Chennai-based company Ad Bureau Advertising Pvt Ltd, alleges cheating regarding the movie’s rights. Latha Rajinikanth appeared in court and secured bail by providing a Rs 1-lakh personal bond and Rs 25,000 in cash. Among the bail conditions, she’s directed not to influence witnesses and must comply with court orders regarding her presence.
Earlier, on December 1, 2023, the court had mandated Latha Rajinikanth’s presence, deeming the alleged offenses as non-bailable. Ad Bureau Advertising claims her involvement as a guarantor for a Rs 10-crore loan extended to Media One, a producer of the film. The complaint highlights a pending amount of Rs 6.2 crore from the loan yet to be received by Ad Bureau Advertising.
