KGF made by Hombale Films acquired a cult status in the film industry when it released. The film’s protagonist Rocky bhai was a rage and even top Tollywood and Bollywood actors have shown their interest to work with the film’s director Prashant Neel.
Right now, Prashanth Neel is completing work on KGF2, which also stars Bollywood biggie Sanjay Dutt apart from Yash, who became a household name across India following KGF.
A well-known name in Sandalwood circles, Hombale Films headed by Vijay Kiragandur, is now involved in the production of KGF 2, which will be a sequel to KGF, which incidentally is the first Sandalwood film to make around Rs 225 crores. Buoyed by the success of a Kannada film on the national level, Hombale Films have roped in Sanjay Dutt to play the baddie, to give it a pan-India appeal.
And now, the latest post from Hombale Films talks of the announcement of an ‘Indian film’. It’s obvious the producers are once again targeting the national and international market, including the neighbouring Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu languages. The muhurat has been set for 2.09 pm on December 2.
There is great anticipation among Telugu audiences that it would be the announcement of either Jr NTR’s film or Prabhas’ film with Prashant Neel.
However, in Sandalwood, there is curiosity over Sriimurali or Rakshit Shetty being signed for their next.
Whichever ways, in keeping with the latest trend, Hombale Films has made it clear that it will indeed be an ‘Indian film’.
