Tollywood sensation Rana Daggubati has arrived in San Diego to participate in the highly anticipated Comic-Con event, commencing tomorrow. He’s there representing two projects: “Project-K” and “Hiranyakashyapa,” the latter being a movie based on a mythological figure.
Controversy arose when renowned director Gunasekhar, known for his work on “Shaakuntalam,” had previously announced “Hiranyakashyapa” and was already working on it, even before his movie “Rudramadevi.” Unexpectedly, Rana also revealed his plans to make a movie on the same mythological character, showcasing a concept art during SDCC 23. Notably, the talented Trivikram is on board as the scriptwriter for Rana’s film, which is currently in the scripting stage.
This announcement sparked a heated online debate, with Gunasekhar’s tweet seemingly indirectly alluding to Rana’s actions. He wrote, “While portraying God as the central theme of your story, one must also remember that integrity is constantly monitored by the divine. Unethical acts will not go unanswered and will face consequences through ethical means.” Many have come out in support of Gunasekhar, understanding his emotional attachment to this dream project. Meanwhile, Rana has chosen to remain silent on the matter, leaving everyone curious about his reaction.
For those unaware, Rana was initially Gunasekhar’s top choice for the lead role in “Hiranyakashyapa,” and this news had garnered considerable attention, even attracting Fox Star Studios to join the project. As the situation unfolds, everyone eagerly awaits further updates on this intriguing issue.
