Gunasekhar has a valid reason behind keeping Hiranyakasyapa on hold

Senior director Gunasekhar had made an official announcement regarding his next a couple of days back. Titled Shaakuntalam, Gunasekhar is going to kick-start the film’s shooting from this year-end.

Actually, Gunasekhar was supposed to kick-start his dream project, Hiranyakasyapa on which has been working from the past three years but surprised everyone by announcing Shaakuntalam. Meanwhile, in one of his recent web interviews, Gunasekhar opened up on why he kept Hiranyakasyapa on hold and announced Shaakuntalam.

He justified the reason by saying that as war scenes designed in Hiranyakasyapa need hundreds of junior artists and technical team to supervise it, he temporarily kept the film on hold and announced Shaakuntalam.
Gunasekhar also revealed that almost seventy percent of Shaakuntalam will be wrapped up through computer graphics. Touted as a mythological love drama, the film is based on a crucial episode from the Adi Parva of Mahabharata.

Gunasekhar’s daughter Neelima Guna will be bankrolling Shaakuntalam and has its music composed by Mani Sharma.
