Sai Pallavi is one of the finest actresses at present and she can pull off any role with great ease. After fantastic performances in Love Story and Virataparvam, Sai Pallavi is back with another movie Gargi which hit the screens today. Let’s see what the movie is all about.

Story:

Gargi (Sai Pallavi) is a school teacher by profession and leads a decent life with her father (RS Shivaji). When everything was going smooth and Gargi was about to get married, an untoward incident changes their lives. Her father who works as a security guard in the apartment gets arrested on the charges of rape.  He is vilified by society and the media. Gargi tries to prove her father as innocent with an inexperienced lawyer Gireeshan Kappaganthula (Kaali Venkat). Does she win and bail her father out as innocent or not is the rest of the story.

The movie’s story predominantly revolves around three characters Sai Pallavi, her father and the lawyer. Despite a stellar performer like Sai Pallavi in the movie, Kaali Venkat as an innocent lawyer steals the show.

Analysis:

Gargi movie speaks about the sexual exploitation the girls undergo in the society. It is the need of the hour. The movie emphasizes that the sexual predators can be around us and it’s hard to imagine until they are caught.

Though several movies and web series have been made on the same point in recent times, it’s the director Gautham Ramachandran who made the movie an interesting watch with excellent narrative skills.

Verdict:

On the whole, Gargi is an emotional drama that binds you throughout the movie despite a few lags here and there. If you are someone who likes the intense court drama, this movie is a must watch.
