Telangana state is experiencing wave of election enthusiasm ahead of the general elections that are coming up. Among the political parties, BJP is in a difficult position as a result of several setbacks. Notable member Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy recently joined the Congress, and there are reports that other leaders are thinking of doing the same to join other parties.
In response to this, the BJP strategically formed an alliance with Janasena to strengthen its position. The Chief of Telangana BJP, Kishan Reddy, has promised to reveal further details regarding seat sharing in due course. However, the BJP recently surprised many by releasing the second phase of its candidates’ list, which included just one candidate.
AP Mithun Kumar Reddy has been selected to contest from the Mahbubnagar constituency, and notably, he is the son of senior BJP leader AP Jithender Reddy. The decision to field the younger Reddy instead of his father was made by the Central Election Committee of the BJP, causing a significant stir in the political landscape.
This unconventional move to announce only one candidate in the second phase contrasts with the expectations of a more extensive list. In the first phase, the BJP had already unveiled 52 candidates, which included sitting MLAs and prominent figures. The party also clarified any doubts about the suspension of Raja Singh, who is one of the party’s key figures. As the elections draw closer, the BJP, in collaboration with Janasena, must finalize their seat allocations and candidate selections to prepare for the upcoming electoral battle, creating anticipation and speculation in the political arena.
