Lately, there has been some turbulence between the ardent followers of Tamil superstars Vijay and Rajinikanth. The situation escalated when a Twitter PR report gained attention, adding fuel to the fire.
According to a report by Tamil cinema enthusiasts, it was claimed that Vijay personally reached out to Rajinikanth’s public relations team, requesting Rajinikanth to endorse the film “Leo” prior to its release. It was suggested that this move was an attempt by Vijay to join the elite 400 crores gross club with Rajinikanth’s support.
However, it later emerged that this report was false, apparently created to undermine Vijay in the lead-up to “Leo’s” release.
Rajinikanth’s official PR team swiftly responded with a tweet, stating, “The claims made in this report are entirely baseless and untrue. Neither #Thalaivar (Rajinikanth) nor #Thalapathy (Vijay) would consider such a promotional strategy for a film. Please exercise responsibility before spreading fabricated information.”
The rivalry between Vijay and Rajinikanth’s fans over the coveted title of the No.1 superstar in Tamil cinema has been ongoing. It has intensified recently, with Rajinikanth achieving a blockbuster with “Jailer” and Vijay’s highly anticipated film “Leo” on the horizon.
