Director SS Rajamouli is in a jubilant mood as the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from his latest movie RRR has won the Golden Globe award for the original song. His brother and music director MM Keeravani have received the award.
However, MM Keeravani has no moral right to take the award alone without the lyricist Chandrabose being a part of it. A song is the intellectual property of both the music director and the lyricist. The rest of the technicians and singers come underperformers but not creators.
Another major blunder was the Golden Globe Awards committee mentioned the names of Kala Bhairavan and Rahul Sipligunj as the lyricists instead of Chandrabose. It’s buzzed that it’s not a slip of the pen but it was intentional.
An insider said- “SS Rajamouli reached till Golden Globe and Oscar by spending his own money and so he wanted this to be a family affair rather than a professional thing. He wanted to see his brother Keeravani take the award all by himself without sharing the picture with anyone else in his family.
As mentioned, the names of ‘singers’ cannot be mentioned in the ‘Best Original Song’ category as only the Music Director and Lyricist are the property rights owners of the song as creators. It’s a big injustice and insult to the lyricist Chandrabose. This incident clearly shows the selfishness of the Rajamouli and Keeravani families”.
