Niharika Konidela has been striving to establish herself in the film industry for quite some time now. After appearing in a few web series and movies like ‘Oka Manasu’ and ‘Suryakantham’, which failed to make an impact, she is still optimistic about her acting career and is putting in her best effort to succeed.
Her latest project is a web series titled ‘Dead Pixels’, set to stream on Disney + Hotstar from May 19. The series revolves around four individuals who are addicted to a video game and how it affects their personal lives. Niharika plays an IT worker who struggles to choose between two men and is seen delivering bold dialogues like, “I want Roshan in bed & Bhargav in the head.” However, the trailer has received mixed reactions from the audience, with some finding it too urban and non-relatable, while others expressing disappointment that it revealed most of the story.
While the trailer left a lot to be desired in terms of performances, with Niharika appearing expressionless and stale most of the time, some of the fresh talents showed promise. The series also features Viva Harsha, Akshay, Sai Ronak, and Bhavana in key roles, with Rajiv Kanakala and others in supporting roles. BBC Studios India and Tamada Media jointly produced the series, with Siddhartha Sadasivuni as the music composer. Aditya Mandala directed the series, while Akshay Pulla is the writer. We’ll have to wait for the series to see if it offers more substance and if Niharika can break out of her previous unsuccessful ventures.
