Australian cricketer David Warner has earned immense popularity and love in India, particularly in Hyderabad. As the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, he led the team to victory in the 2016 Indian Premier League. During the lockdown in 2020, Warner ventured into creating TikTok videos and Instagram reels featuring Indian songs, predominantly Telugu songs, which further boosted his popularity.
In a recent interview with a sports channel, Warner disclosed that when he started creating content on TikTok and Instagram, he was only familiar with three Indian songs: “Sheila ki Jawani,” “Main Tera Hero,” and “Chammak Challo.” However, upon requests from his Hyderabadi fans, he made a video on the song “Butta Bomma,” which quickly went viral.
Warner has actively created a significant amount of content on Telugu songs, garnering a massive reach. During the interview, he expressed his desire to work with his favorite actors and actresses in the Telugu film industry, also known as Tollywood. He specifically mentioned his wish to act alongside Superstar Mahesh Babu, Icon Star Allu Arjun, and the National Crush Rashmika Mandanna. Warner even stated that he believes Rashmika should be present in all of his movies. He expressed his interest in portraying the role of a villain in a film, as it aligns with his personality and would be a suitable role for him.
Currently playing for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL, Warner continues to receive overwhelming love and support from his Hyderabad-based fans. He has frequently imitated the famous gesture from the movie “Pushpa,” starring Allu Arjun, known as “Taggedhe Le,” which has been well-received by fans both at the stadiums and on social media platforms.
