Heartwarming series Hostel Days (Telugu) takes the audience on an exhilarating journey down memory lane, reminding them about their hostel or college days. The series rekindles the spirit of mischief, friendship, self-discovery, and of course, young love. In the first season of Telugu Hostel Days, we witness the blossoming bond between Kavya (portrayed by the talented Aishwarya Holakkal) and Sai (brought to life by the charismatic Darahas Maturu). The endearing and innocent connection resonated with the audience, too. Portraying their roles with sheer authenticity, Darahas and Aishwarya left an indelible mark on the viewers.
Giving insights into her characters, Aishwarya said, “When the narration was given to me I could resonate with Kavya’s character. My acting journey was very difficult as I had to make my parents understand that this is my passion and I really want to give it a shot. Hence in the same way Kavya also wanted to break free as she is embarking on a new journey in her life, staying away from her parents and living in a hostel. She is excited to break free and that’s the key thing that I could resonate with her.”
Opening up about his character, Darahas said, “Sai is the kind of role that I really wanted to do and it was really a big challenge for me. He is very different from the real me and hence it was tough to act in a role which is totally opposite to you. When it comes to the character, Sai is an introverted guy and he’s unsure about a lot of things. He is trying hard to make friends and build his identity in college. Whereas, in reality, I am an extroverted person and I like to do things way out of my comfort zone. Though one thing similar between my character and me is the amazing friendships in college. Just to understand who this guy is I have studied him and made a strong backstory to such an extent that one day Aditya (director) and I were discussing point in time what Sai’s zodiac sign would be.”
