Divorce, alimony, and child support can be quite unpredictable when they reach the courtroom. Telugu actor Prudhvi Raj, who is fondly called as ‘30 years’ Prudhvi, recently experienced this first-hand when the court ruled that he must pay a substantial alimony to his former spouse. Prudhvi took to social media to express his astonishment regarding the court’s decision.
According to Prudhvi, the court has mandated that he pay a monthly alimony of Rs 8 lakh to his ex-wife, with whom he had parted ways some time ago. He went on to comment that even the granddaughter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi would likely struggle to meet such a substantial alimony obligation, expressing his surprise at the court’s determination of the alimony amount.
In essence, this amounts to nearly Rs 1 crore per year in alimony, as per the court’s ruling. It remains to be seen whether Prudhvi will contest this decision in a higher court or choose to comply with the ordered payment.
