Megastar Chiranjeevi is on a roll these days, with back-to-back projects in the works. After completing the shooting of God Father, which is an official remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Lucifer, he has reportedly signed up for another Malayalam remake, Bro Daddy. It is said to be a family-oriented fun entertainer with a strong emphasis on father-son bonding.
As per reports, director Kalyan Krishna will helm the project, with Megastar’s daughter, Sushmitha Konidela, producing the film. The buzz is that popular actress Sree Leela is almost confirmed to play the female lead, while young hero Siddhu Jonnalagadda, known for his role in DJ Tillu, is being considered to play the son’s character opposite Chiranjeevi. Talks are also underway to finalize a senior actress for a crucial role in the movie.
However, some reports have stated that the film being a remake has made Mega fans worried about its prospects. But, there is no need to be concerned, as Bro Daddy has not yet been remade in Telugu, and it’s expected to have a unique flavor of its own. The original Malayalam film starred Mohanlal, Meena, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead roles. It narrates the story of a couple, John Kattadi and Annamma, who are deeply in love after several decades of marriage, and their son Eesho, who works in the advertising sector in Bengaluru.
Eesho’s life takes a turn when he gets his girlfriend, Anna, pregnant, and they both decide to marry. The film showcases how the families react to the situation and how they come together in the end. If all goes well, we can expect yet another blockbuster from Megastar Chiranjeevi and his team.
