Pawan Kalyan’s recent allegations against grama volunteers have ignited a political firestorm in Andhra Pradesh, creating waves across the state. As protests by volunteers ensued, the AP Women Commission took action by serving notices to Pawan for his comments. In response, YSRCP leaders have targeted Pawan, while Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy went as far as washing the feet of volunteers and honoring them.
The much-awaited answer from opposition leader and former CM Chandrababu Naidu was anxiously anticipated amid the rising tensions. During a media interview, Naidu finally addressed the problem, saying, “Volunteers should not acquire or distribute people’s private information. This violates the fundamental principles that give utmost importance to the Right to Privacy.
Volunteers, or anyone working for the government, should solely focus on public service and avoid involvement in politics. Gathering personal information without one’s knowledge poses a significant threat.” Naidu emphasized that if his party, the TDP, comes to power, volunteers would be restricted to performing solely public service duties. Meanwhile, Naidu launched a scathing attack on AP CM Jagan and his administration, holding them responsible for the demise of Amaravati, the people’s capital.
He lamented the heavy price the state and its people are paying due to one man’s foolishness, asserting that the lack of vision and failures of CM Jagan led to the loss of crores of investments. In this politically charged atmosphere, the fallout from Pawan Kalyan’s allegations continues to reverberate, with both sides of the political spectrum engaging in heated exchanges.
