Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan’s recent confrontation with Srikalahasti CI Anju Yadav has sparked controversy with allegations of casteism. The incident occurred when a Jana Sena activist was reportedly slapped by CI Anju Yadav during a protest against derogatory remarks made by YCP leaders about Pawan Kalyan.
Enraged by the incident, Pawan Kalyan announced that he would file a complaint against CI Anju Yadav once he arrived in Tirupati, where he was scheduled to campaign. However, ahead of his visit, BC (Backward Caste) leaders criticized Pawan Kalyan, accusing him of unfairly targeting Anju Yadav due to her caste background. They labeled Pawan as anti-BC and highlighted his alleged derogatory comments against the woman CI.
BC leaders questioned Pawan’s previous rebellious stance, referring to an incident involving Chintamaneni Prabhakar attacking MRO Vanajakshi during the TDP regime. They raised concerns about Pawan’s treatment of Anju Yadav solely based on her BC identity, suggesting that he believed BC individuals were unfit for responsible and higher positions. The leaders further questioned whether BCs should merely salute higher officials and if Pawan intended to suppress BCs.
The response of Jana Sena and Pawan Kalyan to this new twist in the tale remains to be seen. The situation has now taken a casteist turn, with allegations and counter-allegations being made by both sides, adding fuel to the ongoing controversy.
